Magic Wood, maybe you have heard of this place. It’s a beautiful climbing spot in Switzerland just above a town called Ausserferrera. My friends and I were planning on climbing here this spring until we saw the temperature around this time.. a little too cold to camp comfortably.
Anyway, there is a deeper thought behind this artwork. Territory of the natural world is declining and this is a depressive thought. Climbing outdoors let’s us connect with nature again but sadly it comes at a cost for the environment, littering, disruption and damage are common occurrences in popular climbing spots and it saddens me to see how strong our mark can be in the places we love. This art piece is a representation of the spirits of the natural world in an attempt to bring awareness to our footprint in nature.
